Pale straw in colour with lightly floral nose of grapefruit; light to medium-bodied, crisply dry with green peach and lime flavours and a hint of spice. Long fresh finish.
Shows straightforward but stylish Burgundy green apple fruit and good acid with enough weight, mineral and creamy texture to provide excellent balance and food-friendly character.
Pale golden yellow. Delicate, floral nose with hints of honey. Fresh attack; the fine acidity is in perfect balance. Tender mid-palate and very nice finish. 100% Verdejo vinified by Michel Rolland.
Clear, pale green-tinted yellow. Fairly robust nose of lime, gooseberry and cut grass. Light-bodied, tastes of lime, melon and elderflower. Will stay fresh for another year.
Kveik ales are a Norwegian farmhouse style made with a unique wild yeast strain. This version mixes in a barnyard Brettanomyces yeast and infuses spent gin botanicals from Ontario’s Willibald Gin Distillery. Farm fresh aromas erupt from the glass with notes of mango and pineapple marking the loose yellow foam cap. The medium body sparkles with small, fine carbonation and on the sip Campari-like bitterness, orange rind and apricot come to the fore with an herbaceously bitter finale.
A true rarity from often unforgiving Vancouver island, these 15-year-old vines are sited on a hot spot on rocky soils. Impressive red and black fruit with toasty notes up front precede a luscious, well rounded palate supported by approachable, well integrated tannins with lingering vanilla and floral notes to close.
This beer is all about the haze, pouring a juicy fluorescent orange with a moussey, latte-like foam. The sip starts off with papaya and guava moving to pineapple and a seedy passion fruit centre. A low but persistent orange-rind bitterness balances the sip. This hazy brew is tough to find — you can only buy it at some wine and beer stores in Illinois — but it’s worth the hunt as it won gold at the 2018 Great American Beer Festival for Hazy, Juicy IPAs.
