Ripe dark fruits, licorice and a chemical twist (solvent, paint) similar to what is sometimes found in rosés. Warm on the palate, nice fruity taste, slightly rough tannic backbone near the dry finish. Drink now.
Light straw in colour with a nose of apple, spicy oak and a barnyard note. Medium-bodied with dry apple and pear flavours. Well balanced with just the right amount of oak, giving the wine a spicy lift on the finish. Great length.
This is a relatively oaky Chard, but not overdone. The cream, vanilla and spice of the wood meet up with pineapple, banana, Golden Delicious apple and citrus of the grape. The palate is creamy, with lowish acidity and just a dash of residual sugar. This is tailor-made for parties, get-togethers or simply for sipping.
Bright, pale straw in colour with minerally, lemon and lemon blossom bouquet; light-bodied, crisply dry, beautifully balanced with a long finish. A top drawer Muscadet.
From the recently sold Sundial Vineyard, 2/3 Sauvignon Blanc with 1/3 Sémillon. Creamy vanilla and toasty notes on top precede a leesy, textured palate of orchard and stone fruit. This will likely be the 1 of the 2 last vintages of a once-iconic BC white blend, the grapes to be pulled out to make way for more red Bordeaux varieties.
A blend of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc from Harry McWatters' vineyards on the Black Sage Bench. It has a lovely nose of blackberries, plums, cassis, a touch of raspberry-cherry and a range of spice. On the palate there is bountiful fruit, including cassis, blackberry, cherries and a touch of earthiness in a balanced attack of oak, tannin and spice. Good length through the finish.
Starting to hit a sweet spot, this maturing Amarone reveals plum/prune, sweet cherry, leather, spice and cocoa. Brawny with a great finale. Will age gracefully for many more years.
