Clear, very deep garnet. Fairly intense nose of raspberry, opening to raisins and milk chocolate in the glass, with some leather and dusty overtones. Light-bodied, with raspberry and strawberry flavours, good balance, still some soft tannins showing. Drink up.
Very deep garnet. Mature, medium-intensity nose of raisins, cassis, instant coffee and caramel from oak. Full-bodied; tannins are soft, acidity and alcohol taste prominently. Quite fruity, with sour cranberry and cherry flavours. Long finish. Drink this year.
Clear deep garnet. The unusual varietals produce an attractive, fairly powerful and interesting nose with raisins, dates, stewed fruits and tea accented by a bit of barnyard and some coffee and chocolate aromas. On the palate, though, the flavours are one-dimensional: red berries, mostly sour cherry with a bit of sultana raisin. Good acidity for structure, and a long tannic finish, but the alcohol feels a bit hot. Drink up.
Clear deep garnet. Robust and interesting nose of sour cherry, raspberry, coffee and prunes. Light-bodied with high acidity and soft tannins. Red berry-fruit flavours are fading. Drink up.
Clear deep garnet. Faint nose of blueberries and some oak spice. Medium-bodied with fresh, simple dark berry flavours. Tannins almost gone; drink up.
Clear, medium-deep garnet, starting to brown at the edges. Somewhat faint bouquet of plums and blueberries with a drizzle of maple syrup. Light-bodied, fresh and fruity for its age, tasting of tart cherries with a long finish. Drink now, won’t get better.
Clear medium-deep yellow. Interesting aromas of Granny Smith apple, bananas, lemon and apricot. Light-bodied with green apple and lemon fruit and ample acidity. Surprisingly long finish. Drink yesterday.
