15% of the grapes for this wine were dried à la Amarone. Full-bodied, this 14.5% beauty doles out raspberry, cassis, dark cherry, violets, spice, cocoa and earth. The mid-palate shows a sweet/jammy texture before the ripe tannins sweep everything up. It should age well over the next decade. Braised lamb shanks or beef ribs were made for this wine.
They don’t get much better than this for the price! A blend of Alicante Bouschet, Touriga Franca and Touriga Nacional. Dense purple in colour with a floral-spicy nose of black plums with a tobacco-leaf note; medium-bodied, dry with richly extracted flavours of plum and mocha chocolate that finish firmly.
70% Syrah and 30% Grenache. Dense purple in colour with a nose of blackberries and vanilla oak spiced with pepper and floral notes. Full-bodied, rich and full in the mouth with a petal-like softness in mid-palate. Its lively acidity carries it to a firm finish.
The Carmenère (14%) adds spicy herbal notes to the predominantly floral and plum-y nose. Red plum and rich mocha flavours ride the well-balanced, plush palate. Spicy notes linger on the warm finish. A match for gourmet hamburgers.
An ultra-textbook Gewürz, which flaunts lychee, honey, rose water, orange, mango and cinnamon. Only 12% alcohol but with superb depth, definition and length. Off-dry and sound acidity make for an easy pairing with pad Thai or sushi.
A very affordable year-round sipper. Almost water-white in colour with an aromatic, orange-blossom nose that has a note of lemon rind; medium-bodied, off-dry, grapey Muscat flavour with enough acidity to balance. Good mouthfeel.
Pale silvery yellow with lots of bubbles. The bouquet is of toast, yeast and fresh lemon. Tastes like a pear-and-apricot pastry tart topped with lemon mousse. Mouthwatering acidity; a party-pleaser.
