Located in the heart of Provence, the Coteaux Varois en Provence appellation includes 28 communes around the town of Brignoles, between the Sainte-Baume Mountain in the south and the Bessillons Mountains in the north. There are 2500Ha, and soils are predominantly limestone. Marked by its mountainous landscape, peaks rise from 600 to 1000m, offering many slopes and variation of terroir. This is a blend of bone dry Syrah and Cinsault, lean and streamlined with salted scrubby herbs, wild raspberries, strawberries, and cherries. Acidity is pink grapefruit pithy and bright, and there is a wash of salts that liven the gently cushioned palate and linger on. Lovely savoury and charming rosé, equally serious and smashable.
Elegant nose with notes of brioche and a tad of rancio. Equally satisfying on the palate, balanced in every aspect, not without complexity. A fine glass of Champagne.
A vibrant and exciting nose of lime, kiwi, tangerine, grapefruit, light, fresh grass and herbs. It’s zingy and energetic on the palate with pure citrus and tropical fruits and fresh herbs lifted by bracing acidity. Zesty and pure SB that offers good value.
Pale straw colour with a green tint. Grassy, elderberry and green plum bouquet. Medium-bodied and crisply dry. Gooseberry and grapefruit flavours with lively acidity.
Lambic beer is fermented the ancient way — with wild, airborne yeasts. Then it undergoes a secondary fermentation in large barrels, each populated with its own community of microflora, before being blended together to make gueze. This is one of the only unsweetened offerings from family-owned Lindemans, who have been brewing this style of beer since the 1890s. This gueze (a blend of aged and new lambics) is designed to quench thirst with zingy lemon, sour apple, expressive bubbles and a long, dry finish.
A stunning 100% Chardonnay bubbly from the oldest cooperative in all of Champagne. Aged 5 years sur lie, it will appeal to those who like a more mature/autolytic (yeasty) style as it features baked apple, toast, caramel, yeast, anise and nuttiness. There is lovely freshness, splendid length and loads of pinpoint bubbles. Chapeau!
Ripe aromas and flavours of crushed blueberries, black cherry and raspberry with hints of liquorice, mocha and vanilla; a lush texture, with the ripe fruit lingering on the fresh finish.
