Hazy blond appearance with herbal hoppy and citrus aromas and crisp citrus, malty and pronounced hoppy bitterness on the smooth, creamy finish.
The nose is intense with notes of blackberries, currants, cloves, toasted vanilla, bramble and roasted herbs. It’s a full-bodied red that reveals a range of ripe, delicious dark fruits on the palate with a plush bed of tannins on a structured frame. It is that lovely depth of spice that will enthrall, all derived from long barrel-aging in a combination of French oak barrels. A beauty.
Opens with good varietal Cabernet character, showing blackcurrant and dark berry scents together with background smoky tobacco notes. On the palate, generous dark fruit and spice shows some complexity, staying just the right side of jammy ripeness. Finish is harmoniously balanced with a deft touch of oak.
Very ripe nose showing eucalyptus and red and black fruits over oaky notes. Warm and intense on the palate, it has more generosity than finesse at this stage. Tannins are a bit firm and drying in the finish, another reason to give it more time, say 7 to 8 years or more.
This is a beautiful and classic Franc with a nose of crushed red berries, herbs, spice, espresso notes and lingering earthy/savoury notes. It’s highly structured on the palate with a range of red and dark fruits, gorgeous integrated herbs and spice, perky acidity and fine tannins.
Combines yellow tropical fruit with zesty ripe citrus character, a light herbal note and a crisp, refreshingly lively finish. Fine value.
Clear medium-deep ruby. Medium nose of cherry jam, a sniff of black pepper and a hint of tar. Medium-bodied at most, with fruity ripe cherry and fresh acidity which allows enjoyment with pasta in a tomato sauce. Will improve with another year.
