Beautifully fresh and lively with aromas and flavours of apple and almond, a touch of citrus and vanilla, full texture, bright minerality and a touch of saline on the long, lingering, lifted finish. Full and complex while still delicate and elegant. Great match with shellfish, poultry and pork.
The “White Wine of the Year” at the 2011 Ontario Wine Awards. Straw-coloured, with a hint of lime; on the nose, minerally, petrol and apricot aromas; off-dry and elegant with flavours of grapefruit, honey and green apple. A testament to Ontario Riesling.
A Barolo which leans towards the old-school style. Tar, dried earth, dried cherry, dried rose, spice, cocoa are all present. On the palate, the fruit still shows sweetness along with enough tannins that will ensure 20 years of longevity.
Evident but subtle notes of toasty oak, white peach and floral on the nose, very fresh in the mouth with pure apple and melon. Minerally with a sleek, long, mouth-wateringly lifted finish. Great balance, brightness and complexity.
Expressive and well-balanced with raspberry, citrus and herbal notes, bright acidity and a lively mouth-watering finish. Perfect to serve with salumi and ideal with cotechino.
This sparkler won a silver medal at this year’s Ontario Wine Awards. Straw coloured with an active mousse of tiny bubbles, wafts of citrus, apple and green melon rise from the glass; medium-bodied on the palate, flavours of green apple and lemon fill the mouth.
A wine that haunts the soul. Complex with an amazing bouquet made of aromas of tar, dry roses, orange peel, chocolate and red cherries. Firm tannins with bright acidity and a long, lingering finish. While this wine is enjoyable now if decanted ahead and paired with food, it will benefit from further aging. If you can resist, put away in your cellar for 8 to 10 years.
