A blend of Chardonnay and Aligoté. Pale straw in colour with spicy nose of apple; medium-bodied, dry and crisp with crabapple and green pear flavours ending on lemony acidity. A versatile food wine.
Great depth of flavours with complex notes of black pepper, black plum, smoked meat and seductive violet aromas balanced by fresh acidity. Firm yet fine tannins with a persistent finish. Charming now, especially when served with game meat. However, has the structure to keep on improving over the next 6 to 8 years.
Dark yellow. Striking nose of honey and exotic fruits, minerally. In a slightly oxidized style, it feels mellow and half dry on the palate, but the finish is sharp, fresh and very long. Quite original from a little known appellation that uses the same grape (Chenin Blanc) as Vouvray.
Ruby purplish. Lots of sweet red fruits on the new-world style nose. Silky tannins, rich and supple, it happily fills the mouth. Made of Malbec at 60% plus 30% Merlot and 10% Cab Sauv. The high proportion of Malbec explains the different style. Drink or hold.
Clear, silvery yellow. Rich and complex nose including gooseberry, guava, stone fruit, pineapple and apple aromas. Medium-bodied, riper and denser than most NZ Sauvignon Blancs but with balancing acidity. Ready to drink when it reaches your house. A reliable house wine, and great value. Delicious with broiled fresh figs topped with goat cheese.
Rosé gets a bad rap because of White Zinfandel, but good dry rosés are delicious and default food wines. Made from Cabernet Franc, Gamay and Pinot Noir grapes, this wine is full and juicy with aromas and flavours of raspberry, cranberry and cherry with hints of spice, earth and fresh herbs, medium structure and a long, fresh finish. Anyone who thinks rosés aren’t delicious and versatile wines will be converted with just one taste.
Persistent, fresh and complex; full, rich and minerally, showing a mouthwatering salinity, a hint of blanched almond and great balance with a long-lasting finish. Has aged very well and still has loads of life. Made from 100% Turbiana. Delicious with white fish and shellfish.
