Made from Pinot Noir, it shows a deep orange colour, an expressive nose of watermelon, blood orange, ripe strawberry. In the mouth, it is fruity, ripe and dry with a balanced acidity and a good deal of body for a rosé. Not especially light or fresh, it will be best enjoyed with food, think of salads, grilled chicken or hamburgers.
A flattering Icewine with a mouth-coating texture and flavours of bergamot jam, peach, honey, pineapple, sweet apple, spice and minerals. There is acidity, which frames everything nicely, and brilliant length. Who needs dessert with this beauty — just chill and serve!
Based in Washingtonville, NY, in the Hudson River Valley, it’s a blend of Riesling grapes from both there and the Finger Lakes area to the northwest. Sports golden apple, floral and peach notes, a juicy, off-dry palate and a fruit-cocktail finish. A gulpable summer sipper.
Dark ruby. Soft spices, blackberries, slightly jammy on the nose with well-integrated oak. Richly textured, full-bodied and well balanced, it tastes ripe yet fresh with finely grained tannins. Ready to drink.
Made with 100% estate-grown fruit, half wild-yeast-fermented and aged for 6 months in new French oak. Aromas of stone fruit and tropical hints on the nose precede a well-textured palate with generous mouth feel and some vanilla and toasty notes before a lingering close.
The tawny ruby rim of this Nebbiolo suggests some maturity. The nose is cherry-pit and tobacco with a mineral note. Medium-bodied, dry, lean and firm but elegant with a liquorice and cherry flavour. In spite of its maturity, don’t be afraid to cellar it for a few years.
Inaugural single varietal Cabernet Sauvignon, at premium level, yields up front red and black fruit, earthy hints and pencil shavings precede a firm, well-balanced palate led by ripe blackberry and cassis, underpinned by approachable tannins with spicy, leather and peppery notes through a plush and rounded palate through the spicy close.
