This flavourful Malbec is dense purple-black in colour with a warm nose of cedar, toasty oak and black fruits, lifted with a light floral note; it’s medium to full-bodied, dry, savoury, with blackberry and black cherry flavours and fresh acidity.
Good value Cabernet, with red and black berry and tea notes up front. Good varietal character, with hints of cassis and vanilla, well managed oak, well integrated tannins and a solid finish.
One of the driest craft ciders readily available in Ontario grocery and liquor stores comes from Kitchener-Waterloo’s only cidery, founded in 2014. Reminiscent of an off-dry Riesling with aromas of white lily and apple, and a bright [what?] of wet stone and zingy citrus.
Dark ruby with a garnet rim. Nose is predominantly oaky with notes of black fruits. Medium-bodied, supple and balanced mid-palate. Nice finish, full of fruit and well balanced. Drink now or wait.
Sourced from a warmer site in Osoyoos, stainless steel fermented with native yeast. Vibrant orchard fruit and citrus aromas, intensely flavoured layers of lemon, lime and peach on the palate, enhanced by generous mouthfeel from eight months in concrete eggs, underpinned by racy acidity through a persistent, zesty end.
Ripe and fresh dark-cherry and wildberry aromas and flavours, with hints of earth and spice and a beautiful touch of minerality on the silky finish. Quite approachable, but still has a robust quality, as the flavours are really full and well defined. Grilled roast pork or chicken would be perfect.
A definite nod to a drier style than in years past, already showing some development with some petrol and citrus notes, before a crisp, clean apple and pear palate with mineral notes.
