This offering from one of Ontario’s most ambitious new breweries is a lusciously malty red ale pouring a shiny, deep-blush hue with captivating notes of pine, tree sap and a touch of berry. These notes carry through to the flavour with a full and creamy body before grapefruit peel and pine notes kick in for a pleasant, lingering bitterness.
She’s so French, wearing her flirty medium-garnet dress and perfume of sweet berries and rich leather. On the palate, she is a classic claret, beautifully balanced with crushed berries and a touch of smoke from her Gauloises. Like the best French women, sophisticated and will plateau beautifully for a number of years.
The nose is fresh and lively with aromas of grilled pineapple, citrus, bright apple and subtle spice. It’s fresh and fruity on the palate with tropical fruits and integrated apple and zesty citrus with a racy, mouth-watering finish.
This is a “softer” style of Barolo with a mix of cherry, tar, plum, roses, spice and mint layered on a medium-bodied frame. The flavours linger long on the finish, and with the firm tannins, I would suggest you hold for a couple of more years, and then drink until 2027.
Made from certified organically grown grapes. Dusty violet and red berries on the nose before a light to medium-bodied palate of raspberry and strawberry with earthy hints and a distinctive savoury streak supported by juicy acidity and easy tannins before a gently spicy, lengthy end. Exceptional value.
Light ruby. Lots of oak on the nose but with beautiful “yummy” red fruits and Thrills gum. Tight palate, fine tannins, nice fruity taste. Good balance and length.
A Premier Cru Chablis at a good price. Pale straw in colour with a minerally nose of apple, lemon and wet stone; medium-bodied, dry, with a ripe yellow apple flavour balanced with lemony acidity.
