From a warm vintage comes this soft Riesling, revealing peach, honey, lime cordial, white flower and some minerality. Off-dry and approachable, chill well and serve with sushi or General Tao chicken.
Smoky, dusty aromas, with well-integrated sweet-vanilla American oak scents. Savoury flavours buttressed by ripe strawberry and juicy plum. Long, earthy balsamic finish. Great price point, so perfectly suited for a wine-by-the-glass option at a barbecue restaurant. “Like” the new “old vines” label.
Made from 100% Pinot Noir from Three Mile Creek and Acta Vineyards. Pretty medium rose salmon in the glass, vibrant red fruit on the nose followed by full fruited strawberry and raspberry notes, juicy and well structured with generous mouthfeel and good length with a touch of pepper spice in the close.
Côteaux Bourguignons is a regional wine appellation in France, covering the entire Burgundy region from the area around Auxerre down to Beaujolais. From this region Bouchard Père & Fils make this blend of Chardonnay and Aligoté. Pale yellow in colour, it shows a spicy, apple nose; it’s medium-bodied, dry and crisp with crabapple and green pear flavours and a lemony finish. A great introduction to white Burgundy.
Shows straw colour with intense green herbal hoppy scents and malty background aromas. Characteristically strong IPA bitterness dominates over fruity and malty flavours right through the long finish.
Aromatic yellow pear with subtle buttery notes evolving to ripe pear, green apple, a trace of banana and a lick of butterscotch, tempered by balancing acidity on the finish.
Quite remarkable how well this wine has aged. Lovely, pretty and elegant with perfumed aromas of dried roses and violets, earth, tobacco and spice, soft tannins, silky mouthfeel and flavourful finish. The length is just starting to shorten a touch, but the wine is still quite focused and delicious. Drink now with a simple mushroom risotto.
