Cured meats, cassis, red currant is imbued with light smoke and leather in this ripe Coonawarra cab. Medicinal, minted redcurrant and cherry come across thick and ripe on the dense palate, with soft plushy tannins and seasoned with Worcestershire, damson plum, salty olives. Sweet tobacco, perfumed, sweet jam fruit on the compact palate finish with cedar spicing. This is a rough and ready, plucky big red, perfect for your juicy grilled burgers and chips.
Fermented in oak for 18 months, this one shows enticingly aromatic blackcurrant and elegant sweet rich fruit in the mouth, with gently sweet marmalade character and a long, complex finish.
Lively aromatic Sauvignon profile with generous green gooseberry and passion fruit flavours, grassy herbal and mineral notes with lively, appetizing acidity. Excellent value.
Light ruby. Classic, enticing Pinot Noir nose of small red fruits, cinnamon and hints of earth. Well-dosed oak. A bit acidic in the mouth, there is good fruit in the middle palate of medium to light body. Give it 3 to 4 years to lose a bit of its acidity.
St. Urban is one of the most important Riesling vineyards in Ontario. The nose shows bright, vibrant lime zest and citrus, apple skin, summer peach and stony minerality. Just wow on the palate: an initial blast of lemon-lime then Honeycrisp apple and peach, then waves of wet stone that is all perfectly balanced by racy acidity that runs through the core.
Clear deep garnet. Layered nose of sweet red raspberries over raisins, over wood. Light-bodied and thin mid-palate, tasting of sour cherries with a short finish. Drink now.
Dense purple colour with a nose of cedar, creamy oak and vanilla — oak that’s masking the fruit at the moment, but it’s there just waiting to express itself. Medium-bodied, dry, firmly structured with black fruit flavours that are almost Syrah-like.
