Clear deep garnet. Fresh-smelling nose of cassis and blackberry, some green stems and coffee in the background, opens up in the glass to stewed fruit. Very fruity on the palate: cherry and cranberry flavours with good acidity. Alcohol only 12.5% but noticeable, medium-strength tannins leave a long and drying finish. Drink now, with venison and cranberry sausage and a beet-leaf risotto.
Definitely modeled after a rich Alsace Pinot Gris rather than a lighter Pinot Grigio. Loads of ripe, juicy peach up-front, with some sweet honey, pear and caramel fragrances all kept in line via some bracing mineralogy. Rich and honeyed, it sports nuances of pear nectar and clove. There’s a dash of heat on the finish from the 14% ABV; it’s all balanced by some zesty spice notes and cleansing acidity.
This Chardonnay is made for those who like refreshing and unwooded wines. A fruit-driven nose of grapefruit, pear, peach, pineapple and citrus are built on a light- to medium-bodied frame. Although dry, there is very good length, and for the price it represents great value. Pick up a couple of bottles for summer sipping.
100% Pinot Noir, wild yeast, aged on skins for 8 months in 800-litre amphorae; no filtration, no sulphur and no additives. It has a rich and layered nose of black cherry, cassis, cocoa and minerality. It’s intense with amazing depth of flavours that include black cherry, chocolate, crushed dark berries, spice and incredible texture and brightness through the finish.
A superb Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon with textbook aromas of blackberry, cassis, cherry, mint, vanilla, cocoa, tar and smoke. Concentrated, the tannins are plush and the finale long with just the right amount of warmth. Drink over the next 5 years. Steak all the way with this wine!
Pouring a bright, brassy gold, this farmhouse-style ale bursts with aromas of zesty lemon-lime and grapefruit. With a medium body and lively carbonation, the ale has spicy and lightly earthy notes. Cellar it away for a few months in a cool, dark place — the bright hop notes will fade while the funky, rustic character will come out.
Pale yellow. Notes of tropical fruits fill the fine nose, yet it announces a wine with a fair amount of acidity. On the palate, its freshness strikes first, thanks to a hint of bitterness and only a little oak. In contrast to many New World Chardonnays that are overripe and over-oaked, this is a welcome change.
