A fairly weighty wine with black cherry, subtle floral and savoury herb scents, rounded dark and red fruit in the mouth with a splash of dark chocolate, firm dry tannins and slightly aggressive acidity.
Blend of Cab Sauv, Merlot, Cab Franc and Petit Verdot yields forward blue fruit and vanilla followed by plum and red berry notes, with solid mouthfeel and moderate tannins, just enough complexity to keep things interesting for braised meats and pasta.
Very tasty blend of Montepulciano and Sangiovese showing ripe, fresh cherry and plum fruit with a lovely smokiness and a touch of meatiness. Great richness and depth and a refreshing finish. Loads of character for a wine of this price. A great wine with pizza, pasta and grilled meats.
Sourced entirely from Rioja Alta, this one reveals characteristic varietal spicy red berry and red currant scents with generous ripe red fruit, lively acidity and moderate tannins on the palate. Drinking well with food, it could use another 2 to 3 years to soften youthful acidity and integrate more fully.
Agreeable cherry and light herbal notes on the nose, with cherry and blackberry flavours, moderate tannins and good overall balance. Better without the touch of residual sweetness.
Shows rather shy green apple scent with rounded apple and citrus flavours, balanced acidity and a touch of residual sweetness. Everyday wine at an everyday price.
HOP continues to prove they are the Baco-masters! The heat of the 2016 vintage has produced an elegant Baco with blackberry, raspberry, smoke, chocolate, anise and scorched earth. Medium to full body with splendid length and enough tannins to allow 5+ years of aging, if so desired, but it is ready to drink also.
