Deep red-rose colour. Floral, strawberry and savoury scents waft from the glass. Lively mouthfeel accompanies light tannins and flavours of raspberry, plum, rhubarb and meaty tones. Finishes dry with spicy salami notes. Begs for a bacon cheeseburger.
The nose shows some evolution with notes of mushrooms and minerality. Imposing, intense, even powerful in its expression, this is serious Champagne. No sugar in sight, but lots of character and complexity.
From one of the Okanagan Valley’s few dedicated sparkling wine estates, a cooler site tucked under the west side mountains. A very lively stream of fine bubbles with a good mousse. Citrus and nutty notes on top followed by a mouth-filling palate of dark cherry and citrus with excellent depth and texture, definite “pinosity” and good length with juicy acidity before lingering cherry chocolate and zest on the finish.
Deep ruby colour with a nose of tobacco, cedar, pencil lead; full-bodied, well-extracted sweet black fruit flavours with a lovely mouthfeel. Needs time for the tannins to mellow but is eminently drinkable now.
Clear pale yellow. Fairly intense aromas of elderflower, rose, pineapple, papaya and ripe banana. Full-bodied, somewhat sweet but with adequate offsetting acidity, tastes of apple, peach and melon, with a long finish. Classic noble Gewürz, a wine for sipping respectfully. Will last another few years, but why wait?
Very pale pink with a bluish tint. Minerally, cherry pit, nose. Medium body, dry, with a lightly floral cherry flavour and a fresh, acidic finish. A charming wine.
Refined, nicely developed dark fruit bouquet reveals plum and blackberry notes with a dusting of cinnamon and a hint of redcurrant. Well-structured, powerfully concentrated and smoothly rounded dark plum and black cherry on the palate, culminating in harmoniously integrated fruit, oak and spice on the finish. A very impressive wine.
