Slightly shy on the nose, though revealing some strawberry, cinnamon and clove. Cherry and red currant flavours are more assertive on the palate with harmoniously balanced fruit, spice and a splash of milk chocolate on the finish.
Fresh, clean, forward and mildly fruity/floral aromas with hints of marzipan, candied almond, banana, a dash of pepper and subtle, earthy/mineral nuances. Creamy on the palate, with bright acidity and some suggestions of tropical fruit. The finish is surprisingly long, with a peppery, even slightly spritzy end notes. Leave your sake bias at the door and try this stuff!
Rich ruby-purple colour with a cedary-sandalwood nose of cherries and a spicy note; medium-bodied, dry, red berry-fruit flavours with balancing acidity. Good length; good mouthfeel.
This is the kind of wine that could convert the non-wine drinker into a sensible person. Deep ruby colour, minty, blackberry nose, soft and fruit on the palate with a touch of sweetness and a lavender note. Medium-bodied. Easy drinking.
A brick house. Dark, structured, still very closed, but starting to show its phenomenal pedigree. Aromas and flavours of currants, wild berries and tar with a huge body, big and tight mid-palate, firm tannins and a long, berry/vanilla aftertaste. Needs a little more time to really express itself. Another amazing wine from Silvia Imparato.
Pale ruby/garnet. Kirsch, red flowers and a touch of vanilla oak. Fresh on the attack, light to medium body but flavourful with delicate tannins and a fruity short finish. Drink up.
A complex and robust blend of Japanese single malts and Japanese grain whisky, married in oak casks, showing tropical fruit, vanilla, tartness, spice, toffee and caramelized banana with good balance between the oakiness, fruit and alcohol. A few drops of water help to open it up and smoothen it out.
