The term Feinherb denotes a wine that is off-dry. This is a light Riesling that packs lots of flavour. Lime, peach, powdered candies, yeast and minerals. Very good length and ready to drink. Pair with sushi or schnitzel.
A fabulous wine at this price point with a gorgeous nose of ripe peach, white flowers, toast and minerals. It’s very pretty in the mouth with mellowed stone fruits, subtle minerality and persistence through the finish. Pair with scallops or grilled trout.
A lovely nose of cassis, smoke, black pepper, cocoa, oregano and purple flowers. The same carries over onto the taste buds where there is sweetness to the fruit and a great finale. Medium plus body with subdued tannins makes for an ideal pairing with moussaka or lamb brochettes.
A Tortured Path was inspired by ciders from Somerset, UK and made from bitter-sharp and bittersweet apples blended with Golden Russet apples with 6.5% abv. The nose shows funky/earthy baked apple notes, subtle spice and cinnamon with a soft mousse. It shows complexity on the palate with creamy apple, depth of flavour, spice notes and brilliant acidity to give it freshness through the finish.
Botrytised Chenin from hillside clay and gravels was aged in oak casks for 1 year, yielding this off-dry wine. Honeysuckle, beeswax, ripe pear, riper quince, with evident botrytis savouriness throughout. The waxy palate easily carries the ripe weight through the lingering, white pepper spiced finish. Let this warm up to cellar temperature (and beyond) to fully enjoy. An unsuspecting, lovely partner to creamy blue cheeses, or crème brûlée.
HOP’s finest Baco Noir to date! Full-bodied, it exudes loads of blackberry, plum, dark cherry, chocolate, vanilla, hickory and baking spice. Great concentration and density as well as excellent length. Drink until 2023, preferably with braised dishes.
Opens with big, ripe buttery and subtle oaky notes and fine lemon citrus, mineral and balancing fresh acidity on the palate. Rich but not overstated, with a very long leesy and stony mineral finish.
