From Carragena de Indias, Colombia, comes this rum which has been aged, like sherry, by blending younger product with older prior to bottling. Raisin pie, cocoa, caramel and toasted nuts on the nose with flavours of dried fruit, nuts and oloroso sherry. Well-balanced and smooth, with a long, memorable finish.
Stiffened with a splash of fortified wine, this one offers deeply scented spicy red and dark fruit on the nose with dark cherry and cassis on the palate. Somewhat sweet fruit character is reminiscent of Ruby Port. Well balanced and structured, it finishes with lingering cassis, bitter cherry and tannic grip. Interesting and approachable.
Ruby colour, black raspberry nose with a touch of vanilla oak. Medium-bodied, dry, elegant and well-structured.
White flowers, white peach, fresh rousing minerality and lovely hints of lime and citrus are the opening notes. This is a lovely organically farmed Chablis at an attractive price with a racy-steely backbone, grapefruit-peach fruits and stony minerality that builds through the finish. Pair with seafood and salads.
Fruit-driven and fresh with lots of spicy ripe cherry and wild berry flavours. Soft tannins; well-balanced with more fruit and spice lingering on the juicy finish. Ribs or a cheeseburger off the grill would be ideal.
The strawberry, guava, spice, thyme-in-honey, raisins, dried flowers and blackcurrant are the crux of this sweetie. Mid-weight and refined, the dark and red fruits carry the lengthy aftertaste.
Opaquely deep garnet. Appealing and robust nose of cassis, raisins and vanilla from oak. High-ish acidity detracts slightly from the blackberry and sour cherry flavours on the palate. Medium-bodied with a long finish. Tannins still present but the fruit is tipping over: best now.
