Black cherry and green herbal character pervades this sturdy, thickly textured wine, supported by firm tannic structure, forward acidity and very dry finish. Drink with robust red meats and tomato-based pastas.
Aromas of red fruit and vanilla, medium- to full-bodied palate of ripe blackberry and cassis with tobacco hints, firm tannins and some heat in the close.
Clear pale orange-tinged pink. Faint but pleasant nose of apple, yielding to candy apple and floral scents over time in the glass. Light-bodied, with lemon and cranberry flavours. Better served not too cold. Worked well with BBQ ribs. Drink up.
Bright, zippy and off-dry, with aromatics that jump out of the glass; spice, lychee fruit, cinnamon and grapefruit, with great balance between sweetness and acid and a lovely expressive finish. Great with slightly spicy cuisines or just quaffing on the patio.
From a very windy site at the top of the hill, the grapes for this wine come in with thick, wind-toughened, highly phenolic skins. Cracked stone, lees and pear opens this 1er cru. A bitter herbal pear skin draws fluidly through the round, fresh palate, carrying fennel, lemon verbena and meadow grass. Pear skin bitterness and spiced stoniness on the lengthy finish. Quite a complete, interested and textured wine; drinking well now, or hold for 5+ years.
A blend of Merlot from three distinct terroirs around Languedoc makes up this bright and fresh red. Plum, wild blackberry, light dough, stones, with a pure fruited core and lovely fine spicing on this brisk, herbal finish. Hits far beyond its price; Easy to drink, easy to like.
A first-rate Amarone offering concentrated developed dark fruit on the nose with refined notes of cinnamon, vanilla and clove. Rich dark plum and black-cherry flavours come encased in a firm tannic structure with good weight and balance. A deeply satisfying, powerful wine with room for further development.
