Developed deep red fruit with raspberry and supporting peppery spice shifting to concentrated dark berry and black chocolate themes on the palate. Shows a touch of liquorice on the slightly bitter tannic finish. Will be better with 2 to 3 years additional aging.
A blend of Chenin Blanc with Clairette, Viognier, Grenache Blanc, Sauvignon Gris and Semillon. Light golden colour with a minerally nose of quince; medium to full-bodied, dry, richly extracted flavours of quince and pear with an engaging ouch of bitterness on the finish.
Green apple and pronounced mineral on top evolve into a structured, broad palate underpinned by firm vibrant acidity and minerality. Still youthful with definite aging potential.
Opens with aromatic citrus and tropical fruit scents following through with similar flavours, refreshing acidity and a touch of stony mineral on the palate.
Great varietal character here; one of the best Gewürz from Ontario I’ve tasted; medium straw colour with a nose of lychee and rose petals; off-dry, floral and spicy.
Another Portuguese beauty with a stunning nose of funky cherry, smoke, chocolate, vanilla and complex earthy notes. Such a different wine from a blend of unusual Portuguese grapes. It’s elegant and complex on the palate with a persistent attack of fruit, firm tannins and layers of spice and oak stylings. Lovely, long finish. Ideal match with wild game.
Yup, another great red from Tawse! This Pinot possesses a medium ruby colour with complex aromas of cherry, plum, raspberry, spice, barnyard, vanilla and smoke. Supple tannins, medium acidity and a lengthy aftertaste make for a great pairing with duck confit or braised short ribs.
