Equal parts Riesling, Pinot Blanc and Gewürztraminer. Effusive floral and spice, infused with elderflower and honeysuckle. Well-balanced duo of citrusy acidity and sweet orchard fruit on the medium-bodied palate. Ginger and honeycrisp apple linger on the finish. A sipper for salty and pickled snacks.
Medium ruby in colour with a high-toned, earthy, raspberry nose lifted with a light note of violets and a suggestion of oak. Medium-bodied, dry, red berry fruit flavours finishing on an earthy note.
Intensely aromatic bouquet shows floral and ripe yellow tree fruit. Fine fruit flavours suggest apple, pear and citrus, with plenty of depth, vibrant acidity and a nice touch of gravely mineral on the finish.
Refined, elegantly perfumed, developed fruit with subtle spice and a hint of oak introduce concentrated dark cherry flavours backed by fine, though still firm tannins and slightly aggressive acidity. Drinking well now with food but will reward further cellaring up to 2022. Antinori continues to deliver authentic style and quality in its Chianti Classico range.
Spicy nose with dark fruits (plum) and a touch of alcohol. The signs of reduction will go away after a while or if you carafe it for an hour before drinking. Soft and warm on the tongue, it shows an intense flavour and a velvety texture. It finishes a bit earthy with a slight burning sensation, typical of Zinfandel.
This delightful Meritage spent 12 months in a combination of French and American barrels, of which 20% were new. It serves up plum, cherry, cocoa, spice, earth and floral notes on a smooth-as-silk texture. Very good length and ready to drink.
100 percent Pinot Noir from Clam Bay, Sea Star and Saturna: red berries and red apple hints with an entry of juicy strawberry, cranberry and raspberry, underpinned by an appealing savoury edge. Light- to medium-bodied with supple tannins wrapped in bright acidity. A fitting tribute to the late Jean Luc Bertrand, who commenced planting the Saturna vineyard in 1995.
