Eduardo Chadwick’s iconic Carménère is a beacon for Chile’s signature grape. Opens with smoky, spicy aromas backed by intense berry action. The vibrant palate unleashes a well-structured parade of ripe fruit, rich texture, plush tannins and tangy blueberry and sweet cherry flavour. Complex cigar box and balsamic notes linger. Go big with a game dish.
Ruby-purplish. Attractive nose of ripe blackberries, spices and dried herbs. Medium body, sweet fruity taste, supple texture in a very approachable style. A tad bitter, its finish remains fresh. A blend of Syrah and Grenache that will be perfect with meat lasagna.
The aromas of pineapple, vanilla, spice, honey, fig and coconut explode out of the glass and onto the palate, where additional nuances of golden apple, cream and nutmeg join the party. The finish is lengthy with a nice underpinning of acidity providing lift. Drink now.
Pale salmon in colour; cranberry and wild strawberry bouquet. Dry, light to medium bodied, with tangy flavours of rhubarb and strawberry. Good length. A harbinger of summer rosé.
The wine was finished unfiltered and unfined with 100% French oak (15% new), aged for 16 months. Such a gorgeous nose of plums, cherries, blackberries, anise, sweet/savoury spices and toasted oak notes. It’s bright with a cavalcade of flavours on the entry to the palate. Look for ripe, dark and red berries and toasted vanilla spice on a supple, smooth delivery though the finish.
Piercing chalky and mineral notes on the nose are just as persistent on the palate. Great concentration with precise aromas of green apple, grapefruit, lime and lemon. Tight structure with brisk acidity and a long finish that carries a subtle and pleasant hazelnut touch. Tempting to drink now but will reward the drinker who has the patience to wait 5 to 9 years. Well done!
Peach, honey, anise, cream, honey, banana and crisp acidity all work together on a medium-bodied frame. Great length and ready to drink.
