I love the price-quality ratio of the wines from the Dão, as they are providing some of the best-value wines in the world. Lots of bright cherry, blackcurrant, earth and spice with great freshness, bright acidity and a lip-smacking finish. A delicious blend of Jaen and Touriga Nacional.
Clear medium-cherry red with a nose of strawberries, violets, toasted oak and raisins that gains power with a little air time. The maker aims for a Burgundian style, but this is still Chilean fruit-forward. Lively acidity, dreamy silky texture.
Lovely salmon orange hue, this is an organic Negroamaro rosé, filled with bergamot, juicy raspberry and fine strawberry spices that wrap around a pure-fruited and alluring Campari core. This is elegantly shaped with a lovely streamlined flow that lingers and encourages another and another glass. Impressive packaging and menu suggestion (I concur).
Off-dry with a lot of acidic tension, this crisp white doles out the pear, apple, lemon zest, nectarine and mineral. Excellent length and ready to be paired with arancini or oysters on the half shell.
The cool climate and combination of clay/limestone soils of Limarí give this wine a decidedly elegant feel. Medium yellow with aromas of butterscotch, toast, vanilla, honey, pineapple, yellow apple and Bosc pear. Medium body and vibrant acidity provide lift and symmetry. Lobster ravioli in a cream sauce would be divine with this wine.
Enticingly scented combination of cherry, dark berry and subtle oak with a dusting of cinnamon and a hint of fresh green herb. Mouth-filling dark berry and chocolate take over on the palate with supple tannins, well-integrated fruit, spice and fine oak.
An unfiltered, full bodied, extremely hoppy and tasty beer with complex fruity aromas and full flavours of rich caramel, grapefruit and a great hop bitterness on the long lasting finish. Very nice and balanced with great character.
