Deep ruby colour with a cedary, cherry nose. Medium-bodied, dry, elegant and well-structured with a lingering flavour of cherries spiced with oak.
Fresh and light with delicate citrus and herbal aromas and flavours and a pronounced salinity which works well with the natural salinity of shellfish like mussels, clams and shrimp.
2004 was a superb vintage, and this has translated to a medium- to full-bodied wine with dried fruit, leather, tomato concentrate, cedar, mint and game qualities. Excellent length with sound tannins, still. Pair with lamb chops.
I have been trying this wine over many years and this might be the finest vintage of it I have had. Full body with chewy tannins and brisk acid are in harmony with the concentrated yet fresh notes of violet, black pepper and iron. Medium finish. Well-made and worth every dollar. If you like game meet, this is the wine to choose.
Full ruby. Irresistible nose of small red fruits; perfectly balanced sophisticated oak notes. It charms by its roundness on the palate, its intensity and the tight, fine texture of its fruity extract and tannic structure. Finish is long and full. A great wine.
Dark ruby-purple in colour with a cedary nose of currants and a light floral note; medium- to full-bodied, dry, well-extracted blackcurrant and black cherry flavours, well-structured with fresh acidity and good length.
Beaujolais from the named villages in the north of the region have more complexity and concentration than Beaujolais from the south. You can serve this deeply coloured wine at cellar temperature with meat or chilled with fish. On the nose you’ll experience ripe black cherries, spice, violets and an earthy note. Well structured.
