This is a stunning, mature Champagne. Light straw in colour with aromas of baked bread and toasted nuts; medium-bodied, dry and mouth-filling. A regal sparkler with mineral, apple and toast flavours that linger long on the palate.
This light pale Vaucluse rosé is smarter than the cartoon girl on the label might indicate. The label changes colour once the wine temperature reaches 12°C, indicating that it's ready to drink. Liberally. A blend of Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault, this spent a quick 6 months in tank after a cool fermentation to keep the freshness front and centre. Youthful strawberry, raspberry, cranberry share the stage on this dry, light-bodied and pink one that finishes sunny and juicy. Chill and enjoy this little charmer this summer.
This is one of those wines that surprises you. You don’t expect the concentration of flavour and elegance of structure in a wine this price. Dense purple in colour, this Cabernet has an intense nose of cedar, cigar box and blackcurrant topped with a floral grace note. Medium-bodied, dry, richly extracted, ripe blackberry and blackcurrant flavours fill the palate ending on ripe, mellow tannins.
Opens with delicately scented spring flowers with characteristic Riesling lemon citrus, incisive mineral and petrol notes on the nose. Medium weight in the mouth with crisp citrus and green fruit, mineral and well-balanced acidity with a touch of kiwi fruit on the finish. Solid, food-friendly Alsatian style.
Aromatic blend of old-vine Schönburger (51.8%), Müller-Thurgau (44%) and Pinot Blanc (4.2%), all fermented separately, yields a juicy mélange of melon and orchard fruits. Mouth-filling supported by good acidity with some leesy notes and flinty hints to close.
Clear medium to deep garnet. Medium intensity with nose of blackberry morphing to raisins with vanilla oak in the background. Soft and warm, the oak was applied with a light touch over plums and cherries. Went well with a New York strip grilled with Montreal spice. Drink now.
Approachable blend (51.7% Merlot, 30.6% Cab Franc, 13.6% Malbec, 4.1% Petit Verdot ) has black fruit jumping out of the glass before a palate that just manages to steer clear of an overtly commercial sweet style. It does revel in unabashed rich black fruit flavours, with mocha tones and toasty notes from 16 months in French oak; easy tannins and good length.
