If you’re ready for a change from Pinot Grigio, this IGT Toscana white is a blend of 70/30 Vermentino/Chardonnay in stainless to preserve the crisp, bright fruit. Green apple, melon, Asian pear and perfumed lemon blossom on the clean, simple palate. Drink now, preferably with kale salad.
This Pinot is more Beaune in style, due to the softer style and red berry-fruit qualities: cherries and raspberries. Add the flowers, cocoa, plums, very good length and supple tannins, and what you have is a real flatterer of a wine.
A well-priced Napa Chardonnay. Bright straw colour; smoky, toasty, tropical fruit nose; full-bodied, dry, mouth-filling tropical fruit flavours with oak spice notes and a nutty finish. Good length.
Concentrated, this Amarone offers textbook aromas of raisins, currants, figs, dried herbs, potpourri, chocolate and liquorice. Full-bodied with 15.5% alcohol backstopping the entire package. Drink until 2022.
Pale straw yellow. Oaky nose of toasted bread with notes of white fruits and chalk plus a hint of smoke. Rich and full mid-palate with balanced acidity and oak. Nice long finish. Drink or hold a few years. The Mercurey appellation is a good source of fine Burgundy wines at an affordable price.
An unusual and exciting blend of Carignan with 34% Mourvèdre. Dense purple in colour with a cedary, spicy plum bouquet, lifted with vanilla oak notes; full-bodied, dry, savoury, plum flavour; firmly structured, blackcurrant and plum flavours, with a firm, tannic finish.
A full-blooded Sauvignon, partially barrique-fermented in old oak giving the wine a roundness on the palate. Grassy, passion fruit nose, mouth-filling tart gooseberry and apricot flavours. A beautifully crafted wine.
