Winemaker J-L Groux brings what many would at first think is an odd combination of Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Viognier and Gewürztraminer together in this proprietary white. It is the epitome of artful blending and, I don’t know how, but it works brilliantly. With unique and aromatic notes of peach cobbler, tangerine, creamy vanilla, apricots and toasty oak nuances, it is complex and intriguing on the nose. On the palate, it is textured with lychee, all manner of orchard fruits and exotic tropical fruits balanced against an array of charred oak spice, cream and vanilla. It’s lush, yes, but there’s still enough acidity to give the wine vibrancy through the finish. Good aging potential here.
Fragrant cinnamon-spiced cherry bouquet with a light leafy overtone; succulent red-cherry and strawberry flavours backed by enlivening acidity, lightly firm tannins and a splash of milk chocolate on the finish.
From the winery’s estate vineyard in Summerland, hand punched down, aged 12 months in used French barriques. Aromas of wild red berries and forest floor precede a pure fruit entry defined by cherry, strawberry and raspberry with savoury undertones, a silky textured mouthfeel, medium bodied with good acidity and structure through a gently spicy finish.
Perfumed nose of violets, black fruits and wood spice aromas. Rich, ripe fruits on the palate, dense with jammy blackberry and blackcurrant flavour, and supported by firm, robust tannins. Lingers with smoky, meaty notes. Poised and ready for any barbecue action, or a traditional “asado.”
A blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon made in the méthode traditionelle, it is described as “brut” but actually has a touch of sweetness. The colour is medium-deep peach, with a moderate quantity of bubbles. The scent is of orange and banana with a bit of red-berry bite. Tastes of ripe strawberries, with a bit of minerality and refreshing acidity. For immediate drinking.
A blend of Merlot from three distinct terroirs around Languedoc makes up this bright and fresh red. Plum, wild blackberry, light dough, stones, with a pure fruited core and lovely fine spicing on this brisk, herbal finish. Hits far beyond its price; Easy to drink, easy to like.
Delicate floral, citrus and tropical fruit on the nose yield to citrus and crisp green apple in the mouth. Lightly creamy texture is balanced by brisk acidity and firm mineral grip. Very pure and lean style makes this one an ideal match for Nova Scotia oysters on the half-shell.
