Cotton candy colour with an explosive bouquet of strawberry, raspberry, gooseberry, cassis, herbs and citrus. Medium-plus body with refreshing acidity and excellent length. There is just a touch of sweetness, so pair alongside tuna/salmon sashimi.
Cork partly decomposed on opening. Deep mahogany colour, lots of sediment. Nose of slightly burnt cherry pie served with coffee and tea, morphing to raisins and dates but still retaining the classic Gruaud Larose green stemminess. On the palate one tastes sour cherries and cassis, developing to prunes with some time. Tannins and acidity still medium but the fruit is thinning. Should have drank this 2 to 3 years ago.
A full hoppy nose with bright citrus aromas that follow through on the palate with great hoppiness in the forefront, but fresh undertones of citrus fruits, great balance and a long, slightly bitter finish.
Clear medium-deep plum red. Reserved nose of raspberry jam, strawberry candy and violets. Light-bodied, tasting of raspberries and cranberries with high acidity and some bitter almond on the finish. Drink up.
Ruby colour, cedary, black cherry bouquet. Medium bodied, dry, elegant, firmly structured, beautifully balanced with lively acidity. Drinking well now but will reward cellaring 4 to 5 years.
Yet another very tasty Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand at an affordable price. Very pale lime in colour with a nose of cut grass and elderberries. It's medium-bodied with a flavour of sweet passionfruit; fresh grapefruit acidity prolongs the taste in the mouth.
Structured, layered and multi-dimensional with excellent focus and length, dark plum, mineral, blackcurrant and blackberry flavours; intense and persistent on the long, well-framed finish. Cries for grilled meat.
