Ruby-black in colour with a cedary, lightly smoky nose of ripe cherries; medium to full-bodied, dry, cherry flavour corseted with tannins currently masking fruit (but it’s there in spades). Hold 4-5 years.
This hallmark blend yields peach and tropical notes followed by a generous but complex palate. Extra heft from barrel-fermented Sauvignon Blanc with citrus and stonefruit and a persistent finish. Think grilled chicken with cilantro and lime dressing.
Sage, tropical and citrus notes up-front, followed by a pure expression of Chardonnay with juicy, vibrant apple and citrus notes on a broad bone-dry palate. Underpinned by bright acidity and a lingering mineral finish.
From a single vineyard beside Deadman Lake, on the west side of the valley south of Oliver, this generously structured Syrah invites with wild red and black berries on the nose with smoky and earthy hints, before a plush and peppery palate with anise and mocha hints, before a lengthy spicy finish.
Ruby-garnet colour. Nice red fruits on the moderately oaky nose. Compact and a bit one-dimensional in the mouth, but well balanced. A bit unrewarding at this stage — it needs time to open up as the potential is clearly there.
Dense purple in colour with a spicy, black fruit and vanilla oak bouquet; full-bodied, dry, firmly structured, chunky mouthfeel with lively acidity and a firm tannic finish.
This complex, firmly structured blend of equal parts Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon offers generous dark cherry, cassis and liquorice spice characteristics. It offers pleasurable drinking now, but will also develop over the next 10 years. Pairs well with pappardelle pasta with boar ragu.
