From the prized Foxcroft Vineyard comes the superb Riesling which balances acidity and sweetness to perfection, giving the impression of a dry wine. Pale water colour and textbook “Bench” aromas of mineral, lime, white flower, white peach and hints of honey. Long, brisk finale. Drink or age, your choice.
A recipe of 47 botanicals may sound suspicious to some gin purists, but in the case of Monkey 47, more really is more. Flavoured with fruit, spices, herbs, roots and flora from the Black Forest and bottled at 47% ABV, this lauded gin is insanely layered, expressing pine forest, tea leaves and fresh citrus and a woodsy persistence. Makes an excellent Martini but try it neat to grasp its nuances.
This deep brown stout swirls with walnut highlights under a tall, foamy cap. It looks and smells the part, like opening a fresh bag of medium-roast coffee with dark berry and plum notes. The medium-light, bubbly body boasts notes of coffee, smoke and a long, dry cacao-nib note in the finish. Roast dinners and stews make easy companions.
Dense purple in colour with a cedary nose of blackcurrants and plums heightened by well-integrated oak; full-bodied, dry and fleshy but elegant thanks to its fine balance of fruit, oak, acidity and alcohol. Drinking well now but will last a decade.
Elegantly scented nose reveals floral, spicy and caramel notes with a subtle pencil box overtone. Very rounded and smooth on the palate, showing citrusy dried fruit, caramel and sweet spicy notes. Dries out on the very long oaky and nutty finish.
Grown on two well established sites in Osoyoos. Hand harvested and cold fermented in stainless steel for 17 days. Orchard fruits and citrus notes on the nose with a hint of orange blossom followed by a focused palate of nectarine and honey with a fresh finish with a hint of minerality.
Subtle floral, lemon-citrus and mineral aromatics lead the way for classic Riesling flavours, showing fine citrus, bright mineral and lively acidity, finishing quite dry. An exceptionally well-balanced example of Riesling made in the dry, food-friendly Alsatian style.
