Very pale yellow. Engaging nose of peach/pear, honey and herbs. Fresh acidity, clean fruity taste, rich and slightly fat texture in the balanced mid-palate. Nice round finish. The sometimes-harsh Québec climate was milder in 2016; the resulting wines are better than ever.
Quite fresh and fruity blend of Merlot and Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, but also slightly earthy with a round texture and lifted acidity on the finish. A great value, and deceptively has the ability to pair with meatier, rich and flavourful dishes like grilled baby octopus in tomato sauce.
Here’s a Pinot Gris with substance. Straw-coloured with a peach pit and menthol bouquet, it has richly extracted pear and citrus flavours. Crisply dry and well made with a clean, minerally finish.
This soft Chard is drinking beautifully right now, what with all of its peach, cream, spice, yeast, floral and pineapple qualities on the nose. The palate adds some caramel qualities as well as refreshing acidity, making for a perfect partner with lobster in butter or grilled salmon.
Clear, very deep plum-red. Rich nose of cassis, raisins and sweet vanilla. Unmistakably Californian, packed with plum and blackberry flavours and everything in balance except perhaps for the high (14.6%) alcohol. Cries out for a juicy grilled burger or a rib steak. Will improve for a couple more years.
Going hiking, biking, boating? Packing a picnic? Let me introduce you to the drink box for adults: Bota Mini, in an environmentally friendly 500 ml sippy box. Ripe, round and generous, with an elastic mouth feel and brisk spicing up to the short, clipped finish.
Blond, hazy, unfiltered appearance with a soft, persistent head and subtle nutty malt and spicy aromas of nutmeg and cinnamon. Flavours show rich fruit and creamy malt with cinnamon and lingering spicy dried citrus and apricot fruit on the finish. A very fine, complex brew.
