Blend of mainly Merlot (68%) with Cabernet Franc (11%) Cabernet Sauvignon (8%) Petit Verdot (8%) and Malbec (5%) from an exceptional vintage (one of the best on record). Lifted black fruit and hints of cedar and spice on the nose, followed by a bold but elegant palate defined by firm but already approachable tannins, balanced by good acidity with a lingering, gently spicy end. Arguably the best to date.
An outstanding value, this fine Rioja shows the impact of aging in new oak barrels, with spicy, warmly ripe perfumed berry-fruit and subtle notes of vanilla oak on the nose. Generously ripe berry fruit in the mouth, led by bright raspberry, with deftly balanced acidity, lightly firm tannins, and a splash of mocha; culminates with fine fruit and deftly integrated oak on the long finish.
Lithe and luscious, this Antiguan rum starts its days fermenting courtesy of a variety of yeasts, some of which are wild. It's then distilled continuously in copper before aging in former bourbon barrels. The resulting rum is all caramel, oranges and faint but persistent smoke.
Generously scented peppery red fruit opens the way for succulent sour-cherry flavours supported by food-friendly acidity, light tannic structure and an uncharacteristic lick of milk chocolate on the finish.
Shows ripe, spicy red and dark fruit on the nose and softly rounded, lightly sweet ripe fruit, led by juicy blackberry and blackcurrant, in the mouth. Supported by firm but approachable tannins, it finishes with a lick of dark chocolate, fine fruit and good length.
Opaque plum red. Prominent nose featuring black cherry, plum and oak. Medium to full bodied, a robust and powerful wine with high tannins, packed with black cherries. Alcohol is high but well integrated. Drink through 2021.
Good value Cabernet, with red and black berry and tea notes up front. Good varietal character, with hints of cassis and vanilla, well managed oak, well integrated tannins and a solid finish.
