Deep ruby with purple highlights. Full-bodied yet elegant; there are masses of plum, blackberry, cassis, raspberry, eucalyptus, anise, tar and violets. Concentrated, ripe and excellent length. The alcohol is 14.5%, but there is no burn. Nice balance.
Racy and bright with aromas and flavours of cherry, spice, fresh herbs, tea, meat, smoke and earth. Elegant with firm, fine tannins, just the right amount of grippiness and a lifted finish. Great match with pork and pasta with meat sauce. 100% Nero d’Avola.
Very pale yellow. Impressive nose of bread crust, biscuit, fresh mushroom and a floral hint. Balanced and round on the palate, the light fruity taste features a small note of rancio in the finish for added complexity. Great buy.
Full ruby with signs of evolution. Expressive nose; delicate hints of dried fruits, black olives. Harmonious on the palate; elegant with very good balance up to the finish, when it becomes a little warm.
As the sun shines hotter, brewers are mixing orange, lemon, grape or even passion fruit juice with their lagers or wheat beers. The name radler is short for radlermass, a German word meaning “cyclist litre.” Invented in 1922 to quench the thirst of Munich cyclists, this half-juice, half-beer mix is citrusy and refreshing. Parallel 49’s take is a mix of 70% of the Vancouver brewery’s Munich Helles lager, and 30% red grapefruit juice. It’s the “beeriest” of them all with tons of bittersweet grapefruit juice flavour, baguette and a hint of grassy hops that help to dry out the swallow.
Clear medium-deep yellow. Nose of sweet apple drizzled with lime and pineapple juice. A warm vintage produced an unusually rich and fruity Chablis with finely honed acidity highlighting peach and lemon-lime flavours. At its best now. This slices cleanly through a rich pasta Alfredo and nicely accents the lemon in a Caesar salad.
Up-front notes of warm red berry-fruits, cherry and spicy hints, followed by a rounded, well-textured palate of darker fruit such as mulberry and dark cherry; hints of anise spice and a touch of mineral underneath.
