Lupulin powder is the magical fairy dust of hops. It’s a resinous powder chock full of essential oils so it gives a big aromatic punch when it’s used in dry-hopping brews. That’s exactly how Bellwoods employs it here — but they do it twice to amp up the citrus, spicy pine and berry notes in this dank and hazy IPA.
A versatile food wine. Light purple in colour with a rich, smoky cherry-berry nose; medium-bodied, dry with crisp acidity and a gentle tannic line giving it good structure. Ideal for charcuterie.
40-year-old estate vines bring out an expressive nose, palate and finish. Honeysuckle aroma grabs attention. Passion fruit flavour suggests complexity. White grapefruit and mineral linger on and on. Each sip adds savoury nuances. A palate-cleansing match for a caramelized onion tart.
Intensely aromatic honeyed apricot, floral and burnt-sugar notes shift to sweet honeyed lemon and orange citrus, balanced by lively acidity in the mouth. Interesting spiced baked apple notes round out the finish.
This old-vine Malbec has a wow nose of rich currants, plums, anise with elegant spice notes, minerals and swirling earthy/savoury accents. It still needs a bit of time to integrate all those moving parts in the mouth, but shows depth of fruit, concentration and plenty of spicy/savoury goodness through a finessed finish.
Clear pale yellow. Strong and interesting nose of gooseberry, lime and pineapple, warming in the glass to guava and peaches. Light-bodied, a bit thin on the palate, tasting of gooseberry and melon with prominent acidity. Drink up.
An intriguing oak-aged blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carménère, Merlot and Cabernet Franc offering dark berry, blackcurrant, minty herbal and spicy scents with well-integrated dark fruit flavours, good weight and structure and lingering fruit, spice and dark chocolate on the finish.
