Shows citrus lemon and lime on the nose with stony minerality and soft spice from minimal oak aging. Lovely mouthfeel with fresh citrusy fruit and balance through the finish.
Clear medium-deep yellow. Nose of sweet apple drizzled with lime and pineapple juice. A warm vintage produced an unusually rich and fruity Chablis with finely honed acidity highlighting peach and lemon-lime flavours. At its best now. This slices cleanly through a rich pasta Alfredo and nicely accents the lemon in a Caesar salad.
Shows elegantly developed dark fruit, fine spice and a subtle trace of oak on the nose. Generously ripe blackberry and blackcurrant flavours come in a well-structured, full-bodied package. Blackcurrant notes linger on the finish. A stylish, reasonably priced Cab that reveals the solid character of Paso Robles terroir.
Dense garnet colour. Nose is of sour cherries and toasty oak. The very definition of balanced, the red berries play beautifully off vibrant acidity and nice soft tannins, with a long finish. Beats the pants off most similarly priced Bordeaux. Perfect now but will last a few more years.
Made from Ontario’s oldest Chardonnay vines, which were planted back in the 1950s! Golden colour with impressive richness and a good amount of oak as support. Vanilla, toast, pineapple, honey, baking spice, golden apple and cream are in play. Excellent length with bright acidity and long aftertaste.
Mondavi’s flagship red is a big, powerful Napa Cab with no harsh edges. Concentrated and ripe, there is cassis, blackberry, plum, raspberry, mint, mocha, creosote, vanilla and earth. Full-bodied with grand length and tannins to take it to 2035.
Very pale yellow. Herbaceous notes fill the glass accompanied by soy beans, lime and green apple. Light and fresh, it cleanses the mouth with its affirmed acidity and bright fruit. Great with a tuna sandwich, right now.
