The trending white wine in Italy these days is Pecorino (which is also the name of a cheese). Pale straw in colour, it has a spicy bouquet of peach with oak notes; medium-bodied with a smoky, floral, peach flavour, it finishes on a delightful note of lilacs.
“Old-school” style rules with this wine. Remarkable woody, earthy, smoky scents, with whiffs of balsamic. Very rustic on the palate, featuring hickory-wood flavours, powerful tannins, and candied cherry notes. Manly cigar-box finish. Fire up the smoker, then strike up the conversation.
Opaque purple-black in colour; high-toned, cedary, lightly floral nose of black fruit. Medium- to full-bodied, richly extracted black plum and blackberry flavours with balancing acidity and well-integrated oak.
Generous green apple and floral scents lead the way for rounded ripe apple with suggestions of pear on the palate. Creamy, with a splash of vanilla balanced by lively acidity on the finish.
A highly aromatic blend of Zinfandel and Shiraz that shows mulled plums, blackberry, roasted coffee bean and a range of spices on the nose. It has firm tannic structure, dark fruits, mocha, arabica coffee, tar and spice. This is a dark and flavourful wine that can cellar for 5 years or more.
Compared to the Silver Bridge Syrah, this is a more open rendition which sings black pepper, dark cocoa, plum, raspberry, oregano and violets. Ready to drink with pot roast.
Limited edition. Made from Viura and Malavasia grapes fermented in new French barriques, this wine offers intense yellow fruit and mellow, oaky vanilla aromas. Equally concentrated flavours in the mouth pick up leaner green fruit notes, with a trace of lime and focused acidity, finishing very dry but with a contrasting splash of vanilla.
