Clear medium-deep plum red. In your face nose of Gamay grape, also raspberry. Light body with high acidity and fresh grapey fruit. At its best now.
This beer is all about the haze, pouring a juicy fluorescent orange with a mousse- and latte-like foam. The sip starts off with papaya and guava moving to pineapple and a seedy passion fruit centre. A low but persistent orange-rind bitterness balances the sip. This hazy brew is tough to find — you can only buy it at some wine and beer stores in Illinois — but it is worth the hunt as it won gold at the 2018 Great American Beer Festival for Hazy, Juicy IPAs.
Big and densely packed, with a tight core of crushed currants, dark cherry, a touch of earth and spice; big and full-bodied, but needs some time to come together. Should have a great future as it combines fruit, structure, bright acidity and a fresh minerality on the finish.
Pale yellow with a light grey tint. Complex nose of citrus, hints of tropical fruits and honey; discreet oak. Soft attack, ripe flavour; oak brings extra fattiness without tasting as oak. Nice round finish. Ready to drink.
Chardonnay with 15% Grechetto. Shining straw in colour, a prelude to a stellar wine: a rich and expressive bouquet of apple and toasty oak with citrus and barnyard notes; full-bodied, dry, with apple, pineapple and green-nut flavours and beautifully integrated oak. Just a joy to drink.
Very pale with green reflections. Delicate nose of citrus and white fruits. Off-dry attack but residual CO2 creates an impression of freshness. Delicate taste, well balanced, somewhat short finish. Easy to drink right now, so don't wait. A blend of Semillon, white Frontignac, Gewürztraminer and Pinot Gris.
90% Sangiovese plus 10% Malvasia Nera, Colorino, Merlot and Cab Sauv. Ruby red with garnet rim. Aromas and flavours of floral, violets, herbal, forest underbrush and red berries. Well-balanced and structured, with a minerally spine and liquorice on the finish. Poised for barbecue fare.
