Medium ruby. Red fruits and hints of fruit stones. Light to medium body, simple ripe and fruity taste, fine dry tannins in a well-balanced mid-palate. An honest glass of Pinot to be drunk early.
Very pale; green tint on the rim. Fine nose of green apple, conifer, mineral notes. Very light, refreshing; distinguished delicate flavour, light acidic lift.
An interesting blend of Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc that shows a slight copper colour in the glass. It has a robust nose of apples, citrus and spice with hints of rhubarb and cherry-fruit. It’s dry and spunky on the palate with lovely texture and a complex array of fruit flavours.
Opaquely dark garnet. Mature, medium-strength nose of raisins, treacle toffee and a nice bit of barnyard. Medium-bodied, tasting of blackcurrant and other dark berries, an elegant, clearly Old-World wine. Tannins are still prominent but the fruit may be thinning. Drink soon.
From the grandfather of Canadian Meritage, this blend of 50 percent Cabernet. Sauvignon with Merlot (35%) and Cab Franc (%15) was aged in French oak for 15 months. Vibrant aromas of red and black berries with spice notes, followed by a luscious, mouth-filling entry of plush damson, vanilla, blackberry and cassis flavours with firm tannins and excellent structure, plus some herb and spice notes through a solid close. Excellent value.
A favourite year after year but 2020 might be the best vintage I had from this producer. A fine Provence example but with more character than you might expect. Fresh acid with expressive notes of grapefruit, orange and dried herbs and subtle wet stone notes. Made for bouillabaisse served with aioli.
This blend of 51% Merlot, 40% Cab Sauv, 6% Cab Franc and 3% Petit Verdot is just entering its prime, with an enticing aroma of raspberry, mocha and toasty notes. Followed by a plush and plummy palate wrapped in vanilla and spice before a lengthy end.
