The Yarra Valley, where the grapes for this wine are sourced, is renowned for its cool climate and elegant wines. That being said, the oak supports the fruit, rather than overshadowing it. Smoke, apple, figs, lemon, peach, vanilla and minerals all work in tandem. Its light body, fresh acid and linear style make this wine food friendly at an extremely reasonable price.
A blend of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Dolcetto and Lagrein. Enticing nose reflects the complex blend of varietals overlaid with a dusting of cinnamon and a light kiss of clove. Layers of red and dark fruit with gutsy tannic structure and food-friendly drying finish. Drink with grilled steak, roast lamb or other robust red meat dishes.
Their hillside vineyards along the eastern side of the Silverado Trail offer a variety of exposures, which enhances complexity, as does the inclusion of Cab Franc (12%). Features classic blackcurrant intertwined with a fine herbal thread. Loads of mouth-filling sweet black fruits, complemented by a warm spiciness and supported by ripe, well-polished tannins. Cellar over the next 10 years.
Medium body with crunchy tannins and fresh acid. Earthy with the typical notes of raspberries, pencil shaving and a pleasing herbal touch that we associated with delicious Cabernet Franc in the Loire Valley. Slightly rustic but irresistible. Made for food.
Dense purple colour; rich, herbal, blackcurrant nose with a touch of smoke and tar; medium to full-bodied, dry, Northern Rhône style; firmly structured with lively acidity.
Creamy and leesy with apple, citrus and spice, rich and vibrant, bright acidity, depth and complexity, elegant and refined. Particularly versatile with a variety of dishes. Should evolve nicely over the next several years.
Bright ruby. Fine nose of red berries, well-dosed oak and a hint of menthol. Delicately fruity on the palate; the medium to full body has a nice tannic backbone, great balance and length, even verging on elegance. Surprisingly good.
