This Gris stands out for its more complex texture and layers that come from 40% of the wine being fermented and aged in French oak. The result is a luscious orchard-fruit and peach-toned drop with great structure and length, underpinned by juicy acidity.
A crisp and minerally style of Chardonnay made from a selection of vineyards. No discernable oak stylings, just pure citrus/apple fruit in crisp, clean style.
Clear medium-deep yellow. Pear and orange and wood on the nose. Full-bodied with quaffable but interesting oaky apple and pear flavours. Score applies only if you like oak. Drink up.
Lively scents of brambleberry with characteristic Zinfandel peppery spice lead the way for generously ripe wild berry and dark berry flavours backed by good tannic structure, finishing with well-integrated dark fruit, black chocolate and oaky spice.
It’s a blend on several fronts: Merlot/Cab Sauv/Cab Franc grapes, estate Lillooet and Black Sage Bench fruit and French/American oak aging. It results in smoky scents enhanced by mocha and dark berry. Bright acidity, spicy red fruit flavours and soft tannins lead to a taut finish. Try with stir-fry.
This Riesling is starting to show mature petrol aromas, which intersect with dried apricots, golden raisins, flowers, honey and lime zest. Delicate and flavourful, the aftertaste hangs around for a while, while the crisp acidity frames everything.
Ruby/garnet. Ripe red fruits on the slightly perfumed nose, oak is well dosed. Good freshness and extract, full bodied, a bit compact and one-dimensional at this stage. Excellent buy if you let it sleep for 3 to 5 years.
