A rarely planted varietal in BC, this small-production bottling is aged in 50% American and 50% French oak barrels and delivers a nose of mulled blackberry, red plums and cherry-raspberry fruits to go with a baker’s rack of spices. It all comes together on the palate with nicely integrated fruit and spice, soft tannins and bright acidity. Think Malbec with a cool-climate twist.
Pale pink peach hue, this traditional method fizz of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier is frothy and fresh in the mouth, kissed with wild strawberry, cherry and pretty pink florals. The palate is creamy and the dosage is ample, making this an easy and friendly pour for most palates.
This is a blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Baco Noir that changes, depending on the vintage, to keep a similar profile year to year. It has a smoky nose of cherry, bramble, vanilla toast, black pepper, raspberry, cassis and spice. It is ripe and plush on the palate with soft tannins and lively acidity to go with ripe fruits, savoury spices and plenty of peppery/smoky notes through the finish.
Sourced from their Naramata estate vineyard and picked from 2 acres planted with Yellow Muscat grapes. Smells like a grape. Tastes like a grape. So, it must be … a Muscat grape, which is why owner Heidi Noble calls it “The Pure Grape.” It’s very fresh, fruity, juicy and spicy too. I call it “Muscat love.”
Gramolere is a single vineyard located in the village of Monforte d’Alba. Cherry, vanilla, earth, anise, liquorice, bacon fat, smoke, earth and vanilla echo long. Well made in the modern style.
Dense purple in colour with a cedary, blackcurrant and tobacco nose; full-bodied with spicy-peppery flavours of sweet blackberry and tobacco leaf; good length with ripe tannins.
From some of the Okanagan’s oldest vinifera plantings, a blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot yields aromas of dark berry fruits and leather, followed by a broad, medium-bodied palate, with good weight and focused fruit (ripe but not extracted), with vibrant dark berry and spicy notes, supple tannins and a lengthy, gently peppery finish.
