Lots of polish to this Chardonnay, which clocks in at 12.5% alcohol. Smoke, hazelnut, peach, sweet apple, pear and anise are all found in the glass. Mid-weight; the palate is restrained, with vibrant acidity, a slight creaminess as well as mineral-driven aftertaste. Seared scallops or cracked crab would be perfect with this wine.
Ample apples here ― warm yellow and crisp green ― woven with perfumed apple blossoms through this sparkling wine from the Adelaide Hills. Equal parts Chardonnay and Pinot Noir strike a harmonious chord between firm and ripe, between crisp and baked orchard fruits. Streaking pithy citrus acidity is met by a bump of sweetness on the stony, sage-dusted finish. Enough heft and fruity freshness here to handle many dishes (sautéed apple pork chops was a hit).
This is as good as it gets as a dessert wine. Amber colour with an intense barley sugar, burnt orange-peel nose; concentrated sweet orange marmalade and toast flavours; surprisingly medium-bodied for its concentration of flavour; beautifully balanced with great length.
Clear, very deep plum red, tipping to garnet. Medium-intensity nose of cassis, cherry and instant coffee with a drop of anise. Very fruity with ripe flavours of cherry and blackberry and a hint of coriander. High alcohol with very soft tannins and a long finish. Peaking now.
Pale straw colour with a lime tint; earthy, green pear nose with a mineral note; dry, full-bodied pear and lemon flavours that linger on the palate. A more restrained style of Aussie Chardonnay. Great value.
For the price, this wine packs a lot of flavour. Light-bodied; there is lime, grapefruit, gooseberry, pear, grass and some tropical nuance. Fine length and ready to drink, so make sure to pick up a couple of bottles.
Almost water-white in colour with a nose of rhubarb and green plums lifted with a light floral note; medium-bodied, crisply dry with rhubarb and grapefruit flavours. Clean and fresh with good length. Good value.
