Alluring complexity from an aromatic mélange of citrus salad, floral flecks, herbal tinges and wet stone. Crunchy apple bursts on the tangy palate, punctuated by grapefruit, mandarin orange and passion fruit. Long, rich finish with toasty notes. Try fish tacos with this Sauv Blanc/Sem (75%, 25%) blend.
Celebrating its 30th year brewing craft beer, Great Lakes Brewery is unleashing its full lineup of finely crafted, award-winning IPAs in celebration of the big b-day. Octopus gushes with juicy, sometimes musty tropical fruits, with a hefty dose of earthy pine resin. Try it with a spicy mango salad; the fruity notes will find harmony, and the big bold bitterness will amp up the spice factor.
It’s dark and thick in the glass with a nose of blackberries, black currants, graphite, penetrating oak spice notes and underlying wet earth and underbrush. It’s incredibly rich and structured on the palate with well-defined ripe fruit, an interesting graphite note, spice, depth and complexity through a long and polished finish.
This wine defines the Niagara Peninsula Chardonnay style in a warm year. Pale lemon in colour with a bouquet of apple and green pineapple backed by spicy, toasty oak. Full-bodied, dry and spicy — oak-driven. Good value.
Complex ripe plum and fine spice on the nose. Plush, rounded dark fruit in the mouth comes in a well-structured package with light earthy character, very dry tannins and a splash of dark chocolate.
Do NOT open this wine now — you would be committing infanticide. Purple red, clear but so dense it is opaque. Nose of strawberries, light molasses, tea, tobacco and leather. Packed with cassis and blackberries, it is presently too tannic and unharmonious — the score is based on potential.
Dense ruby in colour with a cedary, plum and raisin bouquet; full-bodied, dry, rich and full on the palate. Fleshy but elegant, beautifully balanced and firm.
