Palest lime in colour; lightly smoky, grassy nose of dried grass. Medium-bodied, lemony, green plum and green fig flavours with tangy acidity. Tart but refreshing. A wine for seafood. House-wine worthy.
Deep amber in colour with a raisin, tea leaf, honey and dried apricot nose. Full-bodied, unctuous, very sweet, candied orange marmalade flavours. Well-balanced and a great length.
Abundant notes of raspberries, dark cherries and plums with a hint of clove provide the typical notes associated with Monastrell and Garnacha grown in southern climes. Full body with soft acid and round and ripe tannins. This organic wine is a good partner for Monday night’s burger.
From north-west Spain. Pale pinkish gold. Medium intensity nose of peaches, bananas and orange. Light-bodied with mild stone fruit flavours. Emphasis is on the tart and refreshing acidity. A bottle goes quickly. Value. Drink up.

If you are looking for an inexpensive yet quality sparkling wine, here’s my pick. This tasty blend of 50% Macabeo, 35% Parellada and 15% Xarello is light straw in colour with a lightly floral, apple and citrus nose. It is medium-bodied, dry and well-balanced with apple puree and lemon flavours.
Uncle Pepe’s unfiltered, unclarified version of his Fino, bottled in spring at the time of maximum yeast (“flor”) activity, intending a fresh and delicate experience. Clear deep gold. Aromas of yeast and dried pear and the umami of salty salami. Light-bodied, tasting of ripe apple and a certain grapey-ness that could deceive you into tasting sweetness, nicely balanced with a bit of almond bitterness. The “En Rama” version, in my opinion, is different, but not necessarily better.
