Pinot Blanc (85%) fermented for 3 weeks followed by 2 months on “light” lees, then blended with 15% Müller-Thurgau. Floral and stone-fruit aromas precede a gently citrus palate with peach-pit and tropical notes and some zesty peel in the finish.
Made from 100% Marquette grown on the estate, east of Kamloops. Medium to dark salmon colour in the glass, with a rhubarb, apple and strawberry nose, followed by a red fruited palate supported by juicy acidity with a lingering, fruity finish.
Deep and dark nose with aromas and flavours of black cherry, liquorice, wild herbs and spice with a tight core, voluminous mouthfeel, focused acidity and an intense finish. Structured, yet still elegant and approachable. Needs a little time to integrate.
Made from grapes from a vineyard that was once part of Château Angelus. Medium-dark garnet. From an early-drinking vintage; slightly green bouquet with Merlot spice, vanilla and earth. Tastes of raspberries with a bit of smoke from oak aging. Soft tannins, ready to drink. Punches above its weight.
Another consumer-friendly offering from Lindeman’s. The nose shows cherry-blueberry fruits on the nose with kirsch, spice and vanilla toast notes. A solid porch-sipper with a basket of red fruits on the palate and added plums and savoury notes.
Elegant Riesling varietal nose displays intense aromatic citrus and mineral. Similar themes play through in the mouth, finishing crisply off-dry with striking mineral grip.
Amazingly complex with a ripe, mouth-filling, creamy texture. Rich apricot, pear, nectarine, orange peel, ginger, fig and persimmon, balanced beautifully with a bright acidity with a hint of nuttiness on the lasting finish. A stunning wine and a great case for Chenin Blanc being the signature white varietal of South Africa.
