A blend of eau de vie from Grand and Petite Champagne aged between 4 and 12 years, this popular VSOP is medium-bodied and energetic with aromas of ripe pear, citrus zest, vanilla and oak. A honeyed palate of orchard fruit and orange peel leads to a spicy, drawn-out finish.
The Sauv Blanc delivers up a bouquet of lime, lemon verbena, tropical fruit, grapefruit and herbs. The palate mirrors this, with added nuances of apple and passion fruit. There is very good length and a fresh finish. Pair with yellow perch in a herb/lemon sauce or a feta and yellow beet salad.
We had the opportunity to be “virtually introduced” to The Macallan Edition No. 6 during an online tasting with The Macallan Brand Ambassador Cameron Millar. The sixth (and final) of The Macallan’s Edition Series, Edition No. 6, celebrates the power of the mighty river Spey. Aged in a combination of American and sherry oak, this is an aromatically captivating dram. Expect a complex nose of baking spice, vanilla, dried fruit, sweet oak, toffee, and caramel. Warm, round, and supple in the mouth, it offers flavours of dark chocolate, pear/citrus fruit, dark plum and mocha, trailing off with a memorable dried apricot finish.
Sourced from four separate Casablanca vineyards to enhance its characteristics. Fresh, fragrant strawberry and cherry aromas. Lively, juicy red- and black-cherry flavours are balanced by light tannins and an elegant texture. Straightforward but refreshing finish. A pleasant partner for poultry.
Soft, elegant and very drinkable with aromas and flavours of ripe cherries, plums and raspberries with hints of vanilla and chocolate, and a rich finish. Well constructed and a great value composed of Aragonez, Trincadeira, Touriga Nacional and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Clear medium-deep plum red. Fresh, medium-intensity nose of candy apple, raspberry and sour cherry. Light-bodied and simple, crisp and tasty with pomegranate and cranberry flavours. Best while still fresh; drink up.
From the gravel-loam soils of Riva Ranch vineyard in Arroyo Seco, Monterey, this Pinot Noir is made of parcels dating back to 1963. Plush and silken on the palate, with waves of subtle smoke, soft black raspberry, cherry and wild raspberries riding fine, slightly powdery tannis. Quite harmonious and round until a hot and cocoa-dusted finish, this would be best with a fire-grilled pork chop.
