This is a Ripasso-style wine that’s re-fermented over the skins of the Nugan Alfredo dried grapes to give it complexity and texture. Look for dark cherry/kirsch, brambly raspberry, cassis, cocoa and spice on the nose. It’s quite rich and expressive on the palate with a range of red/dark fruits, earth spice and a smooth finish.
A 50/50 blend of Syrah and Monastrell which spent some time in French and American oak, this one offers stylishly spiced raspberry, ripe blackberry and red plum flavours, harmoniously integrated and deftly balanced, with a light splash of dark chocolate on the finish. Offers tons of flavour and punches well above its weight.
Elegant, perfumed and approachable with silky tannins, slightly tart, juicy fruit, floral and spice. Alluring and beautiful. Although this will age well for several years, it is immensely enjoyable now.
A voluptuous Pinot with super-ripe cherry fruit, strawberry, fruitcake, lovely oak spices and vanilla. On the palate, look for mature showy cherry-fruit, pomegranate, a touch of cassis, bramble and spice. It’s a Pinot with both weight and finesse and good length through the finish.
Dense purple in colour with a high-toned nose of black plums with a floral to note. Medium-bodied, dry, beautifully balanced, savoury ripe black fruit flavours.
Elegant floral scents with stone fruit and varietal white pepper on the nose yield to luscious, delicately ripe peach and apricot flavours backed by stony mineral and deftly balanced acidity. Citrus and stone fruit notes linger on the finish.
The '08 Tignanello is more linear than the richer '07. Toast, graphite, morello cherry, humus, cassis, mocha and a slight herbal edge are supported by Sangiovese’s acidity and Cabernet Sauvignon’s tannins. It will age well for a decade.
