Clear medium-gold. Average intensity nose of candy apple, apricot and roasted peach. Full-bodied and rich but with a nice touch of Italy in the tartness and slight minerality. Drink to 2019.
Polished, clear, medium-yellow. Forward nose of cantaloupe, pineapple and banana. Full-bodied and full-flavored, but in an elegant way, restrained by tart Italian acidity. Tastes of peaches, apricots and more melon with a slightly bitter finish. Will relax and improve a bit with another year or two. Showed a remarkable affinity for goat’s milk Brie on sour rye crostini.
100% Merlot. Deep ruby/purplish. Cherry, plum, spicy notes from the oak. Full and tight on the palate, saturated with fruity flavours, the finely grained tannins have no hardness. Finish is dry, long and compact.
Dark red. Powerful nose with complex fruity notes, luxury oak. Flavourful attack, ripe and juicy fruity taste. Dense, balanced mid-palate with tender fleshy tannins, simply delicious and irresistible. Finish is equally compact and lasting. Drink or hold for even more complexity.
This is a blend of Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Croatina and Sangiovese. No Merlot. Dense ruby in colour with a mature rim, the cedary nose has elements of black cherry and truffles. The wine is full-bodied, dry, muscular in structure with an earthy flavour of dried cherries.
Concentrated, this Amarone offers textbook aromas of raisins, currants, figs, dried herbs, potpourri, chocolate and liquorice. Full-bodied with 15.5% alcohol backstopping the entire package. Drink until 2022.
Ruby purplish. Shy, deep nose with obvious finesse but little expression at this stage. Compact and firm on the palate, the fruity flavour is pure, the oak already well-integrated. Built for the next 20 years.
