Ruby-black in colour with a cedary, lightly smoky nose of ripe cherries; medium to full-bodied, dry, cherry flavour corseted with tannins currently masking fruit (but it’s there in spades). Hold 4-5 years.
While the Barolo from this estate offers great pleasure after many years in the cellar, the Nebbiolo charms immediately. Firm tannins with fresh acid and touch of rusticity that charms rather than gets in the way. Seductive aromas of tar, roses and black liquorice with a hint of orange rind on the moderate finish. A wine that haunts the soul and at a good price. Rabbit, please!
Fresh and varietally correct without being formulaic, the wine shows bright apple and a touch of citrus, well integrated and balanced with a clean finish. A very good value and a better option than the abundance of undrinkable sugar-laden soda-pop wines served at too many banquets and other crowd-gathering events.
Brilliant mouth-watering blend of Trebbiano, Pecorino and Passerina with lovely stone fruit and zesty citrus, nice creaminess in the mid-palate with a saliva-generating chalky, salty, minerally finish. Amazing with grilled prawns and summer salads, but also great on its own on the patio. Over delivers on its price-quality ratio.
Big and bold with bright red and black fruit, fresh herbs, edgy with grippy, fruit-coated tannins and a big fruity finish. Perfect with grilled wild game such as bison and elk.
Lovely perfume, still showing lots of freshness, a firm backbone, elegant and layered with all components well integrated, fresh acidity and great length. Drinking beautifully now, but still has plenty of life. Very enjoyable.
A wine that haunts the soul. Complex with an amazing bouquet made of aromas of tar, dry roses, orange peel, chocolate and red cherries. Firm tannins with bright acidity and a long, lingering finish. While this wine is enjoyable now if decanted ahead and paired with food, it will benefit from further aging. If you can resist, put away in your cellar for 8 to 10 years.
